There are people who still visit this blog thinking it’s the same old NFL blog it was in its first incarnation five years ago. Those people are probably wondering why I’m prattling on about Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, rather than saying something witty and profound about Donovan McNabb being traded to the Washington Redskins, a deal which our pal MJD rightfully calls “a flabbergaster.”
Well, if you need profound, just look at this photo:

You can almost hear soon-to-be-former ‘Skins QB Jason Campbell quietly whispering, “I’m sorry, man. I’m really, really sorry.”
If you’d like something more in-depth than that, I recommend checking out Enrico Campitelli’s long goodbye to McNabb at The 700 Level and Chris Mottram’s search for a silver lining at Mister Irrelevant. That should give you enough of a feel for how the blogs are reacting to this deal.
Incidentally, Daniel Snyder, the Redskins’ polarizing owner, was once rumored to be interested in buying Tottenham Hotspur. Of course, he was.
