Playing the Role of Cuba Yesterday…

Published by Dave at 9:57 am under American Football, Association Football

Y’know, I almost drove up to D.C. for the USA v. Cuba World Cup Qualifier on Saturday, but I didn’t because I knew I would end up missing the Bucs v. Panthers game yesterday. Silly me. The USA clinched a spot in the final CONCACAF qualifying round — or “The Hex,” as the kids call it these days — with a 6-1 thrashing of Cuba, while the Panthers… well, looked a lot like Cuba did on Saturday night.

The USA has two more games left in this current round of qualifying, so I’m hoping Bob Bradley gives the youngsters — especially Jose Francisco Torres, the Pachuca youngster who turned down Mexico to play for the U.S. — a lot more playing time.

I’m also hoping Dwayne Jarrett and Dante Rosario defect within the next 48 hours.

So can we expect Delhomme and Smith to defect to Hillsborough County, then?
