Why Is Sam the Eagle in Blackface?
Over at Shutdown Corner, the mighty infamous MJD takes a closer look at the NFL’s attempt to start a new trend in fandom — wearing stupid on your head.
Granted, Atlanta Falcons fans probably still walk into the Georgia Dome wearing Ron Mexico jerseys, so perhaps it’s not that much of a stretch to imagine them wearing a falcon foamhead that looks more depressed than Shawn Andrews.
Still, for sheer stupidity, nothing tops this:
Don’t forget to take off your shoes and pull your laptop out of your bag before donning this foamhead. Oh, and make sure you have a few New England Revolution members on board, just in case someone wants to open the emergency exit in mid-air and dive head first into your $12 Coors Light.
