Football in the snow. Ha ha - no chance of that here down in Australia. I like this site - good work here mate. We have a Canadian on our team here in Sydney. We play Football in the Northern Beaches comp. You can check out our progress here: http://manlyvalefootball.blogspot.com/

Football is getting there in the USA. The thing is with the 'World game' is that at the money is in Europe. England, Italy and Spain are the big three, with Germany, then perhaps France and Holland the leagues with any true quality and depth of quality.

It truly is the 'world game' when the World Cup is on. A true world cup and a competition where you can rarely pick the quarter finalists. A sign that there are good teams throught the world. Ok back to the BBQ... keep up the good work here mate.

Well Dave the Canucks should be used to it. Did you ever get those photos I sent you of the CFL stadium covered in snow?

Apparently there were eight inches of snow on the day. The Estonian FA put out a call for help and a bunch of fans went to work with shovels and made the pitch (sort of) playable.

Great to see those committed fans rewarded with a win.

We have the Gulf Stream to thank for soccer traditionally being a fall-winter-spring sport. Unlike other parts of northern Europe, winters in Britain are comparatively mild so you seldom get bad snow storms there.
