Only Xbox For You, Mr. Anelka

Memo to Les Bleus: If you want to play video games in your spare time during EURO 2008, stick to the boring stuff.

The Wii is just too dangerous of a system to have around when you are involved in sports. While Soccer can be a very dangerous activity, it seems that the Wii is even worse off. That’s why a French soccer team has banned the Wii for Euro 2008.

Yes, because Guitar Hero for the PlayStation is so much better for you.

On some level, I understand why French manager Raymond Domenech would institute such a rule, but really, a Wii can do far more damage to your TV than your elbow. Besides, it’s not like you really need those elbows while playing soccer, right? Right?

One of these days, I’d like to see some video of soccer stars playing Madden and NFL stars playing FIFA or Pro Evolution Soccer. That might be a bit more fun than a Becks-and-Bush commercial.

(Spotted on Nintendo Wii Fanboy.)

Domenech is pretty escentric and crazy. He has all these strange rules that make no sense. This one doesn’t surprise me either. I think he should let them play winning eleven (pro evolution soccer), its the best simulation game, much better than fifa.
