Zidane and the All Blacks

Published by Dave at 1:53 pm under Association Football, Rugby Football

In another one of those nifty cross-code football videos that are all the rage these days, Zinedine Zidane hung out with the All Blacks in Marseille as they went over rugby kicking skills. Naturally, this devolved into a contest between Zidane and Daniel Carter. Zizou has good form here, but it’s still kind of obvious that this isn’t his football of choice.

Rugby isn’t the American football of choice, either, but the USA Eagles actually managed to put up a semi-respectable showing against England today, losing 28-10. At least, it’s respectable when you realize that New Zealand beat Italy, 76-14. Is it a sign that the USA isn’t as bad at rugby as we think, or did England just suck emu eggs today?

Well I watched the first half and the commentators were on and on about the valiant effort put up by the Eagles today. If it weren’t for the yellow card and insuing 10 mins we were down a man, the score at halftime would have been a lot closer. It sounds like they did well in the second as well. Good show!

Both, really. I was very impressed by the Eagles’ performance; however, England’s still not playing anywhere near their own level.
