Setanta Sports Ruins My Saturday Night

July 1st, 2007 · 4 Comments

Y’know, I promised certain parties — including one who sells a product I might actually buy one day — that I would cut back on the cursing here for a little while. So this might not be like my little rant after the Panthers-Eagles game last November.

But whiskey tango foxtrot, Setanta Sports?

When I go out to a local watering hole for a beer and a West Coast Eagles game, show me the damn West Coast Eagles game! Don’t show me highlights from Scottish Premier League games that happened five months ago, then say something about rejoining the game in progress — especially when you don’t actually rejoin the game.

I had been looking forward to tonight’s game for the last three days. It sure looks like a good one, too; the AFL web site indicates that the Eagles are up 7 at the half, though nobody’s had a lead bigger than 13. And I haven’t seen the first minute of it. Seriously, what did I waste this six bucks and gas for?

Thanks for ruining my night Setanta. You may our only gateway to watching live AFL matches, but right about now, I’m hoping ESPN guts you like a fish.

Dave, I suggest you email the AFL broadcasting department and let them know Setanta are not delivering the coverage as promised, even the AFL website said that it would be live at 11pm ET US.
By the way, if you get a chance to see Collingwood V Hawks at all, do it, it was one hell of a game. Game of the round for sure.

Yeah I was at “The Dome” to see the Hawks get up over the pies. Great Sunday evening entertainment.

    There was this guy see.
He wasn’t very bright and he reached his adult life without ever having learned “the facts”.
Somehow, it gets to be his wedding day.
While he is walking down the isle, his father tugs his sleeve and says,

“Son, when you get to the hotel room…Call me”

Hours later he gets to the hotel room with his beautiful blushing bride and he calls his father,

“Dad, we are the hotel, what do I do?”

“O.K. Son, listen up, take off your clothes and get in the bed, then she should take off her clothes and get in the bed, if not help her. Then either way, ah, call me”

    A few moments later…

“Dad we took off our clothes and we are in the bed, what do I do?”

O.K. Son, listen up. Move real close to her and she should move real close to you, and then… Ah, call me.”

    A few moments later…

“DAD! WE TOOK OFF OUR CLOTHES, GOT IN THE BED AND MOVED REAL CLOSE, WHAT DO I DO???”

“O.K. Son, Listen up, this is the most important part. Stick the long part of your body into the place where she goes to the bathroom.”

    A few moments later…

“Dad, I’ve got my foot in the toilet, what do I do?”
