This Needs to Be an Actual Football Code

Published by Dave at 8:00 am under Association Football

A video similar to this showed up on The Beautiful Game recently, but this one is of slightly better quality. It features a 5-on-5 car football match between two teams of small European cars — Toyota Aygos and Volkswagen Foxes.

I think I might actually pay money to watch something like this live — or to play the video game version. Someone get EA Sports on the horn…

OT: My sports page has a blurb about the Gold Cup final drawing 41% more viewers on Univision in Spanish than the Stanley Cup final on NBC. I know hockey is way down but it’s nice to see your average soccer tournament putting a beatdown on the most important competition in hockey.

heh, from the opening shot, complete with filters I was waiting for a Top Gear presenter to appear :) They do great stunts like this, and I think they’ve done a few other “football matches”. Great fun.

Haha. That looks fun. I’m a far too crappy and timid of a driver to ever attempt that in real life myself, though.

Of course, since this code uses neither one’s foot to kick the ball, nor is it played on foot, can one really call it a “football” code? :)

Well, your foot’s on the gas pedal, isn’t it? ;)
