Dad, Where Does Football Come From?
For the last several weeks over at the FanHouse, I’ve been writing little articles about the history of our glorious game of American Football. They’re labeled “Football History 101,” and since I can’t seem to get the boys at AOL to give me my own FanHouse category, I figured I might as well link to those articles here so that more people can read them:
- Article 1: The First College Football Game
- Article 2: The Legend of William Webb Ellis
- Article 3: Walter Camp Creates the American Game
- Article 4: Weapons of Mass Formation
- Article 5: John Heisman’s Archimedes Moment
- Article 6: How the Stadium Shaped the Game
Today’s Football History 101 article breaks away from the American game and focuses on something completely different — International Rules Football. I think it’s interesting, but I’m weird that way. Still, you might want to check it out, as it could be a fun viewing alternative to that big quarterback duel between Seneca Wallace and Andrew Walter (oooh, pinch me) a week from this Monday.
