Y’know, the more I read about Santonio Holmes’ brushes with the law, the more I start to wonder if the Steelers might have been better off sitting back and drafting Lendale White after all — and the more I think Willie Reid may not have been such a bad third-round pick. This time, the charges are a bit more serious than being a black guy with dredlocks in South Florida…
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Santonio Holmes was charged with domestic violence early Monday, police said.
Holmes was arrested at an apartment just after midnight and taken to Franklin County Jail, Sgt. Loucious Hollis said. He is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning.
Hollis confirmed the domestic violence charge against Holmes, but declined to say who made the complaint or provide details of the allegation.
This may get dropped and disappear before training camp. We’ll see. Either way, Steelers fans aren’t going to fret over this guy as much they will over their helmetless quarterback.
