End of 1st: Steelers 7, Ravens 7
For the lack of running Pittsburgh did on their first drive, it sure felt like Steeler football — 8:57 of methodical, move-the-chains football, leading to a TD pass from Ben Roethlisberger to Heath Miller. They worked the screens and the play-action well, taking early advantage of the fact that the Ravens are focusing on stopping the run.
The Ravens’ first drive, however, looked just as solid, as Anthony Wright put some good zip on the ball, and Chester Taylor tumbled into the end zone for the Ravens’ first score. That’s not what I expected from the Steeler D to start. Adjustments are required.
The TD ruined my shot at $1000. Carolina Ale House gives away that much if you guess the final score of the game correctly. I predicted the final score would be 23-6. Off Constantly once again…
Quincy Morgan got a good return after the Ravens’ TD, but Roethlisberger was sacked on a 3rd-and-short play. They have to decide whether to kick a long field goal or try to pin the Ravens deep to start the 2nd…
