Midway Blitz, starring Ron Mexico
Think Midway is a just little bitter about the NFL giving exclusive licensing rights to EA Sports? The company just announced its new Blitz: The League football game, which features one team called the Redhawks.
The quarterback for the Redhawks? Ron Mexico.
Whoever came up with that idea just saved the marketing team about half a mil.
They also brought in Peter Egan, who wrote for the ESPN series Playmakers, to help write some of the scripts in the game. Oh, and Midway added even more gratuitous violence to the game as well, probably to satisfy those who missed out on Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas because of the infamous Hot Coffee mod.
